Join us for our second lunchtime session for University of Leeds staff and students, exploring the collections at ULITA- an Archive of International Textiles. Sessions are open to all staff and students at University of Leeds and offer an introduction to collection holdings, along with the opportunity to handle items from the archive.
ULITA’s collection of Indian textiles include highly embroidered and printed 20th Century textiles and garments. The Collection includes tunics, hats, bags, puppets, cushion covers, saris, hangings, painted panels and ikat cloths. This collection is particularly rich with embroidered fauna and flora. Much of the collection originated from the ERS (Educational Resource Service) of the West Riding County Council.
